ICA Training Workshops in Karachi & Lahore

I) TWO DAY INTERNATIONAL COTTON ASSOCATION (ICA) TRAINING WORKSHOP ON “TRADE MATTERS” - On 17 & 18 October 2022 at the Karachi Movenpick Hotel

II) TWO DAY ICA TRAINING WORKSHOP ON “COTTON QUALITY FOR SUPPLY CHAIN” On 21 & 22 October 2022 at Pearl Continental (PC) Hotel, Lahore

Optional: III) ICA Arbitrators Exam Basic / Advanced Level



This is to inform that the Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) in collaboration with the International Cotton Association (ICA), has arranged the above I) and II) Training in Karachi and Lahore respectively.

1. Presenters
Mr Jon Dickinson, Arbitrator and Consultant,
Dr Robert Jiang, ICA Business Operations & Development Manager and
Ms Casandra German, ICA Safe Trading Officer
will conduct these Training workshops at Karachi and Lahore.

2. Modules
The Two Day Karachi Training Workshop will cover the following Areas / Modules:

2. Contract Performance
3. Bylaws & Rules
4. Agents/Brokers and Their Functions
5. Manual Classing Principle & Procedure
6. Cotton Standards
7. Instrument Testing
8. Allowances Calculation using Value Differences
9. Disputes/Claims & Resolution
10. Arbitration & Appeal Procedure
11. Enforcement of Awards
12. Safe Trading Zone

The Two Day Lahore Training Workshop will cover the following Areas / Modules

3. Fee per participant:
For Member-firms of the KCA: Rs. 12,500 (Rupees Twelve Thousand & five hundred only)
For Non member-firms: Rs 15,000 (Rupees Fifteen Thousand only)

5. Lunch and Tea
One Buffet Lunch and Two Hi Tea will be served daily.

6. Exam and Certificate

Course Material related to the above topics shall also be provided during Training Sessions. At the End of the Training Workshop, exam will be conducted for all delegates. Successful Participants shall be awarded Certificates from the International Cotton Association.

7. Registration

To register for the Workshops in Karachi or Lahore, you are required to send an email to kcapakkhi@gmail.com. Members / Non Members interested to participate in the above Training Workshops, are advised to let their nominees registered with the Association by forwarding their Names, Designations, Tel No., WhatsApp No. / Mobile No. and active email address along with prescribed Registration Fee by Friday, 14 October 2022 positively. Since the number of seats are limited, registration will be made on first come first served basis.

The ICA will also conduct Arbitrators Exam, Basic / Advanced Level. Those willing to participate in the exam to be held at Karachi, will have to pay £100 per person to the ICA for the Basic Level, and contact us for Advanced Level.

Candidates interested in taking the Basic / Advanced Arbitrators Exam are requested to get registered themselves by Friday 14 October 2022, through email to Dr Robert Jiang at robert@ica-ltd.org and copy to Mr Muhammad Ali at kcapakkhi@gmail.com forwarding their personal details like Names, Designation, and Mobile Nos. etc.

Payment must be received before the commencement of the exam by MasterCard, Visa Credit Card or Bank Transfer. Course material & Payment Details will be sent to the applicants after getting registered with the ICA.
